MGCCC men PRCC women win their soccer ·games on Tuesday BILOXI, MS (WLOX) · Defense is something Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs men's soccer coach Chris Handy stresses. His players failed to consistently stop East Central's offense, but the Bulldogs were able to pull out a comeback S-3 victory. James Beattie scored a goal and had two assists to help propel the Bulldogs under the win column. In the 63rd minute. defenderJordan Pardon scored the eying goal. With 3:44 remaining in the game, Juan Salazar scored the go ahead goal when Matt Ross took a free kick and the ball hit a player from East Central, Salazar was there and kicked home the goal. At first, the assistant referee ruled that Salazar was offside. However, the referee overruled and said Salazar was played outside by a defender's play. Bulldogs head coach Handy said, "A win's a win, and we'll take that in this league, but we've goc scuff to hash out over the next few days.• Mississippi Gulf Coast head coach Jackie Rhodes said, "The second half was really exciting to watch. I think we kind of came alive a little bit. We got our first goal of the season, so that put a little pep in our step. This was the first time I was able to see that our team really wanted to win the game." The Lady Bulldogs travel to Poplarville Friday for a South Div1s1on game facing arch rival Pearl River. The Lady Wildcats dominated Hinds 7-0 Tuesday at Raymond. Sophomore Lyndsey Lee scored a hat trick. Pearl River is now 2-0. Copyright 2015 WLOX. All Rights Rl!served.
