ECCC Lady Warriors _ sweep Baton R~uge The East Central · Community College
Lamar County High School in Vernon, Ala. Lacey Hill, a product of Kilbourne (La.) High School, got the win. She allowed five earned runs on five hits in five innings. She fanned eight batters and walked two. In the nightcap, Chloe Thaggard of Leake Academy threw a no– hitter to take a 9-1 win over the Lady Bears. Thaggard allowed one run in six innings of work. She struck out nine batters and walked two. Turner led the EC offense as she went 2-2 and scored three runs. Additional hitters included Ellis, double and single; Gibson, dou- ble; and Hassell, Aldous, Benson, Lavender and Rachel Davis of Petal, each with a single. Recording RBis were Gibson (2), Davis and Benson. Runs were scored by Turner (3), Ellis (2), Hassell, Aldous, Duke and Lavender . ECCC hosts Copia'h- Lincoln Community College Wednesday, March 18. Doubleheader action begins at 3 and 5 p.m. on the Decatur campus. The Lady Warriors travel to Raymond Saturday, March 21 to take on the Hinds.
Lady Warrior softball team got the sweep over Baton Rouge Community College Monday, March 16, in Decatur. With the wins, ECCC improves to 19-5 overall and 5-3 in divi– sion play. In game one, the Lady Warriors rallied for nine runs in the fifth inning to claim a 13-5 victory. Karoline Holsonback of South Lamar High School in Kennedy, Ala., had two singles and two RBis to lead the Lady Warrior offense. Additional hitters for ECCC were Summer Lavender of Canton Academy, two singles; Andi Hannaford of Magnolia Heights School in Senatobia and Christen Benson of Brookhaven, each with a double; and Maegen Ellis of Oak Hill Academy in West Point and Caitlyn Aldous of Petal, singles each. In addition to Holsonback, RBis were credited to Ellis (3) and Hannaford (2). Scoring runs were Ellis (2), Benson (2), Lavender (2) Mahalia Gibson ofOakGrove (2), Mallory Turner of West Lauderdale, Aldous, Katlyn Duke of Neshoba Central, Mallory Lee of Quitman and Hannah Hassell of
