Bender signs hoops scholarship

East Central's Tynika Bender (seated, right) has slgned a national letter of intent to play basketball at Tougaloo College. Bender, a 5-4 point guard and product ofNew– ton High School, averaged 10.5 points, 5.4 assists and3.8 steals per game last season. She was selected to play in the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges AU-Star Game.
