ECCCsquads sweep Hinds
In the men's contest, EC held on for an 85-82 decision to improve to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in league competition under first-year head coach Robert Thompson. Jacques Johnson led the Warriors with 30 points. Johnson is a sophomore guard/forward and product of Provine High School in Jackson. Other scorers in double figures were Michael Mat lock, 16; and Quinton Camp bell, 10. Matlock ls a freshman guard/forward from Central High School in Memphis. Campbell, a freshman forward, hails from Mary G. Montgomery High School in Mobile. Campbell led in rebounds with 14. Rod Taylor pumped in 25 points to lead the Bulldogs, who dropped to 2-10 and 0 2. EC held a 44-36 advan tage at the break. The Lady Warrior and Warriors travel to MS Gulf Coast Community College Thursday, Jan. 16. Game times are 6 and 8 p.m. on the Perkinston campus.

It was "sweep night" for East Central Community College's basketball squads as they posted MACJC South Division victories over Hinds Community Col lege Monday in the BrackĀ· een-Wood Physical Education Building on the Decatur campus. The Lady Warriors cruised 70-59 and improved to 6-6 overall and 1-2 in divi sion play under second-year head coach Crandal Porter. Jalesbia Jones led EC with 26 points. Jones is a freshman forward and product of Wayne\county High School. Also scoringin double fig ures were Tynika Bender, 18; and Tanihhija Hughes, 13. Bender is a freshman guard from Newton and Hughes is a sophomore for ward from Forest. Hughes was also credited mth 16 rebounds. Rajee McDonald and Feli cia Guynes each had 11 points to lead the Lady Bull dogs, who fell to 0-12 and 0 2. EC led 41-35 at halftime.
