ended for the East Cen tral Community College fast-pitch softball team which dropped a best-of three series with Itawam ba Community College Friday and Saturday (April 25-26) on the Ful ton campus. The Lady Diamond Warriors began the post season competition with a 4-2 loss Friday, and evened the series with a 5-3 victory Saturday afternoon. EC was outscored 8-4 in the third and deciding contest late Saturday.

Warriors, who finished the regular season with a 32-14 mark and 17-11 record in the MACJC South Division, qualified for the playoff series as the South# 4 Seed. Top-seed Itawamba completed the regular season with a 33-10 mark and led the MACJC North Division at 21-3. The Lady Indians were ranked 17th in the latest NJCAA Division II poll. EC's softball program is led by head coach Kristin Chaney and assis tants Courtney Nunn and Kasie Buckley.
