ECCC women's soccer wins, boys fall

Jamar Simms and Connor Brennan were credited with scoring assists during Cook's goal. Simms is a freshman defender from Pascagoula and Brennan, a freshman midfielder, hails from Pearl. The Warriors fell to 4-~0 and l· 3-0 following the loss. The Bull· dogs improved to 4-3-1 and 2-2-0. Next up for EC squads are matchups with Southwest ~li-~i -. sippi Community College Friday. Game times are 2 and 4 p.m. on the Decatur campus. The previously scheduled con tests with Pearl River Communitv College in Poplarville, Tuesday, · Sept. 23, have been cancelled.

Stevenson is a freshman forward from Harrison Central, and Anderson is a freshman mid fielder from Florence. Lacey Field also scored for EC. Field is a freshman forward from Lewisburg. Turner was credited with a scoring assist. Mara Baker scored for Holmes. In the men's contest, the War riors jumped out to a 1-0 lead fol lowing Tyler Cook's goal in the eighth minute. But the Bulldogs rallied with goals by Alexis Alonso in the 34th minute and Jimmy Doonan in the 49th minute and held on for the division win. Cook is a sophomore defender from Daphne (Ala.) High School.

DECATUR - Allie Turner cored two goals to help lead the Ea t Central Community College womE'n's ·occer team to a 3-1 vic tory over Holmes Community Col lege in a key division battle Friday. The Lady Soccer Warriors improved to 7-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in MACJC North Division, while the Lady Bulldogs dropped to 4-4· 0 and 1-3-0. Turner is a freshman mid fi,. der from Horn Lake. Carissa Stevenson and Kayla Anderson were credited with scoring as<;ists on Turner's goals.
