After earning NJCAAAcad– emic Tennis Teams of the Year honors, the 2013 East Central Community College's Lady Warrior and Warrior tennis squads are also recognized as the top MACJC All-State Acad– emic Teams, according to Jim Southward, Director of Ath– letics for the Mississippi Com– munity College Board. Southward noted East Cen– tral captured the women's divi– sion with a 3.77 team grade point average and the me!l·~ division earned the prestigious honor with a 3.76 team GPA. Numerous ECCC student– athletes also earned MACJC Academic All-State recognition for achieving at least a 3.25 GPA. ECCC President Dr. Billy Stewart said the academic honors earned by the College's student-athletes indicate the type program EC strives to pro– duce each year. "I want to congratulate and thank our coaches and our stu– dent-athletes for their efforts this year," said Dr. Stewart. "They performed the EC Way - Excellence with Class, and I am so proud of each of them!"
