Doubles- EC's Kelsey Tadlock and Haley Chapman, both prod– ucts of Newton County High School, fell to Maria Castril and Lay– toya Whitley (8-3), and EC's Alana Turner of Florence and P.unber Pierce of Leake Acad– emy fell to Annissa J ohnson and Octavia Pendleton (8-4). EC's Nan Hartness and Hay– denFryery, both ofWin– ston Academy, won their match by default.
Singles - Turner de– feated Johnson (6-4); Fryery beat Nowell (6-3, 6-0) and Hartness won her match by default. Tadlock fell to Castrill (6-4, 6-2), Chapman fell to Whitley (6-4, 6-3) and Pier ce fell to Pendelton (4-6, 6-1, 10-1).
