The scholarship was established by Mrs. Haywood's husband, Dr. William Thomas Ha)wood, who served asECCCbusiness managerandacoountinginstructor from 1951-58. Mrs. Hayv.ood, a member of the ECCC Class of 1954, served as editor of the Wo-He-Lo yearbook, per– formed with the Mad~and was selected MayQueen. She was an English teacher and later experienood a successful career as an attorney before losing her battle with cancer at age 48 in 1984. (EC Photo)
