Ho is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Ath– letes and served as vice presi– dent his freshman year. He also holds membershlp in the Environmental Club. Hanna's involvement in campus a.ctMties also in– cludes participation in athlet– ics. He is a two-year member of the Warrior tennis team and was on the men's basket– ball squad his freshman sea- son. He is a 2011 honor graduate of Newton County Academy, where be was valedictorian and chosen for the Hall of Fame. He was also selected STAR Student andwas named to the WI'OK-TV All Scholastic SpottsTeam. Other honors in- clude selection as a Scholar Athlete and Citizenship Award recipient, in addition to numerous subject awards. Hanna also held positions of leadership in several clubs and organizations and re- ceived numerous awards in basketball and tennis.

The annual HEADWAE~b servance was established by the Mississippi Legislature to honor the academically tal– ented tudents and faculty members from each of the 36 public and private m~rn?ct: in: stitutions of the Misstsstppt Association ofColleges. Honorees arc invited to tbe State Capitol where they are welcomed by Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves and recognized in each Legislative chamber. A luncheon is scheduled at the Jackson Marriott Hotel in downtown .Jackson, during whicb each student and fac– ulty honoree is recognized in front of their guests, institu– tion leaders, corpor.ate spon– sors and legislators. In addition to the public recognition, a booklet will be published featuring photos and biographical sketches of each honoree. Hanna, a President's List Scholar who holds a perfect · 4.0 grade point average. plans to major in chemistry.

He is a longtime member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 29 of the Choctaw Area Coun– cil in Union and received tbe rank of Eagle Scout in 2007. In addition, he is a member of Clarke-Venable Baptist Church in Decatur and serves as a Sunday school teacher. Hanna is also involved in mission work and went to Thailand in the summer of 2012 as a part o.f. a team sup– portingmissionaries in South– east Asia. He plans to return
