An– derson belted two doubles, drove in a run and scored; Harmon contributed two sin– gles and scored twice; and Shotts slapped a two-run sin– gle and scored twice. Ander– son hails from Hillcrest High School in Tuscaloosa; Har– mon is a product ofEnterprise High School; and Shotts is a former standout at Louisville High School. Also scoring runs were Kalik May (2) of Tuscaloosa County, JohnMorganBerryof Madison Central and Ter– rance Steele of Neshoba Cen– tral. Starter Fernando Gonzalez picked up tbe win. The right– hander from Puerto Rico went 6 1/3 innings and allowed seven earned runs on seven hits. He fanned five batters and walked two. Anderson blasted a solo homer and Newton County High School product Xavier Franklin also produced a run with his RBI double. Other hitters were Domino, two singles; and Berry and Harmon, singles each. In addition to Anderson, others scoring runs were Shotts, Kalik May, Alcantara, Franklin, DeionUbner ofLau– rel and Zach May of Newton County. Right-hander Mitchell Wooten picked up the win in relief. Wooten hurled a acore– less 1 213 innings and fanned three batters.He also gave up two walks. Wooten is a prod– uct of Edinburg High SchooL Starter Blake Dubuissonwent 3 1/J innings and allowed two earned runs on six hits. He faWled five batters and walked one. Dubuisson is a product of Long Beach High School. Southpaw Brady . · McBride of Northeast Jones and right-hander Ty Hendrix of East Webster each burled an inning in relief. McBride pitched a scoreless inningand fanned tw.o battorR. H£-ndrix allowed one run on one hit. He fanned a batter and walked one. Hinds finished the season . at 18-25 and 8-16.

East Central Community College's baseball squad needed just one \vin over Hinds CommunityCollegu Fri– day to clinch second place in the MACJC South Division and qualify as a designated host for a best-Qf-three series to begin post-season play. The Diamond Warriors took care of business early by holdingon for a 9-7 win in th~ opener and continued their success in the nightcap with a 7-4 decision to complete a memorable Sophomore Recognition Day. EO, which finished the reg– ular season at 26-19 overall and 17-7 in league play, will host North No. 3 seed Missis– sippi Delta Community Col– lege in a best"''f-three eries scheduled Friday-Saturday, May 3-4, at the Clark/Gay Baseball Complex. Game times are 4 p.m. Friday and 1 . p.m. Saturday. Agame three, if necessary, will be held later Saturday afternoon.
