EC golfers finish fifth in Co-Lin tournament

rounds of 81 and 74 while Williams posted scores of 77 and 78. York is a product of Choctaw Central High School and Williams hails from Porters Chapel in El Dorado, Ark. Teammates Lee McDill of Newton County finished at 157 (77-80) followed by Shelby Patterson of Forest, 158 (77 -81); AaronTucker of Leake Central, also at 158 (77-81); and Evan Dowell of Carthage, 176 (87-89). Chris Clark serves as Warrior golf coach. Competition continues later this month with MACJC Event #4, scheduled March 25-26 at North Creek in Southaven and Wedge– wood. in Olive Branch. Northwest MS Community College serves as host.
East Central Community College's golf 'team placed fifth in MACJC Event #3 held March 17-18, on tbe Wolf Hollow course at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson. The Warrior llnksters carded a 621 (308-313) in the 36-hole competition, won by Northwest MS Community College with a 592 (298-294) total. Host Co-Lin finished second at 593 (303-290), fol– lowed by MS Gulf Coast, 611 (317-294); East MS, 619 (309-310); ECCC; Itawamba, 632 (316-316); Northeast MS, 643 (328-315); Jones County, 648 (327-321); Hinds, 656 (333-323); and Holmes, 658 (336-322) Taylor York and Sawyer Williams each carded a 155 total to lead EC.
