Coach Boone is the inspiration for the 2000 blockbuster movie starring Denzel Washington in the lead role. The 1971litans were the first integrated team at T. C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Va., where controversy developed from the selection of Boone as head coach instead of a pop– ular white coach.
