Former Diamond Warrior continuing career at Jackson St.

Former Central Community College baseball standout Fred Hampton of Louisville has signed a national letter of intent to continue his career at Jackson State University. Hampton, a 5-10, 200-pound outfielder, was a second team MACJC All-State selection and received the Diamond Warriors' team captain award foUowing the 2012 campaign. He w~ also named to the MACJC Academic All-State Team. The Nanih Waiya High School product posted a .301 bat– ting average with three home runs, 10 doubles and 32 RBis in helping Jead the Diamond Warriors to the 2012 state play– offs en route to a 25-23 record.
