Velez joins fellow sophomores Fred Hampton, Evan Humphries and Casey Wells on the MACJC All-State Second Team In addition to sharing RBI honors with Ander– son, the 6', 205-pound Velez batted .304 with two home runs and 14 doubles. Hampton, a 5-10, 200-pound outfielder, posted a .301 batting average and had three home runs and 10 dou– bles. He collected 32 RBis. Hampton is a product ofNanih Waiya High School. Humphries, a 6-3, 200-pound right– handed hurler, posted a 5-1 mark and had three saves. He had a 3.34 earned run average and fanned 20 batters. Humphries also re– ceived the Scholar Ath– lete, Team Captain and Jamie Clark awards

Both players were se– lected All-Region 23 and were named first teamMACJC All-State.
