Academy, single. Patterson went the distance in the nine-inning battle to record the victory. She allowed three earned runs on eight hits. She also fanned eight batters and

walked five.

from school reports Marlee Massey's walk-off infield single in the bottom ofthe ninth inning with the bases loaded scored Tenna Patterson and provided East Central Community College's fast-pitch softball team with a dramatic 8-7 victory over Hinds last Thursday on the Decatur campus. The MACJC South Division matchup was previously sched– uled as the second game of a doubleheader April 2 but was postponed due to inclement weather. East Central won the April 2 contest by an 8-3 margin. With the sweep, the Lady Diamond Warriors improved to 26-9 overall and 10-4 in league competition. EC is currently tied with GulfCoast for second place. The Lady Bulldogs are 19-7 overall. Jones County leads the division at 14-2 and has a 28-5 overall mark. The Lady Warriors were to host Jones Thesday. EC hosts Copiah-Lincoln College Saturday, April 14 in double– header action getting under way at 1 p.m.
