ECCC Warrior Golf Classic Nets $5,800 for Scholarships from school reports

tournament's inception. Scholarships are presented during the annual AT&T Scholarship Appreciation Luncheon held each summer on the Decatur campus. Cox and Associates Insurance took top honors in the 2010 competition and was also the corporate division winner with a 20- under par 52. Team mem– bers included Aubry Cox, Jimmy Bell and Larry Wag– goner, all of Carthage; and Bob Jordan of Kosciusko. The Coley Chambliss team finished second with a 56. Team members included Coley Chambliss, Hal Nowell and Robert Tranum, all of Louisville, and Bo Welch of Union. The Howard Industries team also shot 56 but fin– ished third in the champi– onship flight following a scorecard playoff. Team members included Rusty Thoms of Madison, Mark Power of Pearl, Jake Hill of Louisville and ].D. Robinson of Raymond. Also competing in the championship flight and posting a 57 were the Newton County Bank team Goel Nelson and Ted Whittle, both of Newton; David Burt of Hickory and Allen Massingill of

Meridian), and the Van Chancellor and Crow on Auto World team (Heze Chancellor and Reid Ivester, both of Louisville, and Gayden Bell and Brandon Fed– erick, both of Carthage). FIRSTFUGHT The First Financial Bank team carded a 58 to win first flight honors. Team members included BillyMack Stuart, Brad Ogletree, Terry Thomas and John Gregory, all of Carthage. First flight run– ners-up we re Glynn Griffing and Associates, also with a 58. Team mem– bers were Glynn Griffin and Brent Walker, both of Jackson, Dr. Milton Walker of Brandon and Haywood Reeves of Forest. Fin– ishing third in the first flight with a 58 were the Chet Hailey team, whose members included Chet Hailey of Philadelphia, Ken Hisaw of Louisville, and J eff Jones and J ay Bradley, both of Starkville. Also competing in the first flight were the SIVAD, Inc./ECCC Workforce Team (Chris Clark and Ronnie Westbrook, both of Decatur; and Roger Whit– lock and Joseph Knight, both of Union) and the Robert Thomas team

(Robert Thomas and j erry Brantley, both of Philadelphia; Derrell Thomas of Mobile, Ala., and Bill Lundy of Conway, Ark.), each with a 60 score; Community Bank (Steve Gibson, Randy Gibson, Dave Gibson and Vance Cox, all of Forest) and The Citizens Bank of Philadel– phia (Ken Jones, James Jones, Rusty Barnett and Randy McElhenney, all of Decatur), each with a 61; andApplied GEO Tech– nologies, Inc. (Grant Ben, Bobby Tubby and Jason Grisham, all of Philadel– phia; and James Robinson of Choctaw), 62. SECOND FUGHT Main Street Junction II won the second flight with a 63. Team members included Neil Pettigrew of Philadelphia and Michael Graham, Joey Walters and Brad Breland. all of Union. Second flight runners-up were members of the Bul– lockToyota team (ferry Bullock of Louisville, Scotty Stephens of Meridian, Mickey Fowler of Kosciusko and Eric Parker of Starkville), 63; and placing third were the Drs. John and Betsy Mann team Qohn and Betsy Mann and Dale Joyner, all of Philadelphia and Allen Parkes of Union) with a t>5.

Several area s tudents will receive financial assis– tance to attend East Cen– tral Community College in Decatur followi ng another successful Warrior Golf Classic. This year's event, held June 3 at Louisville Country Club, netted $5,800 in scholarship funds for entering freshmen residing in ECCC's five– county district, according to tournament coordinator Dr. Stacey Hollingsworth, executive director for foun– dation and alumni rela– tions. Dr. Hollingsworth said 20 teams participated in the four-person scramble, sponsored since 2002 by the ECCC Alumni Associa– tion. "The 2010 Warrior Golf Classic was another great event for our Alumni Asso– ciation," said Dr. Hollingsworth. "We are so appreciative to all partici– pants, corporate and hole sponsors, volunteers and staff at Louisville Country Club for another suc– cessful tournament. 11 Dr. Hollingsworth said approximately $33,000 in scholarship monies have been a~rded since the
