headed to nationals Luke Brown, a fresh– man member of the East I Central Community I College golf team, has qualified for the NJCAA Golf Championship sched– uled May 16-21, at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Phoenix, Ariz. Brown advances to the prestigious tournament fol– lowing his successful par– ticipation in the NJCAA Region 23 Golf Champton– ship held April 25-26 at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club at Hinds Community College in Raymond. The former Carthage High School standout fin– ished tied for fifth in the 36-bole event by carding rounds of 74 and 77 for a two-day total of 151, seven over par, and was named to the All-Region 23 squad along with five other golfers representing the state's community and jun- ior colleges.
