Late Ju.co Basketball Southwest sweeps aside ECCC squads

Dale, a former Choctaw Central High School standout, and fellow sopho– more Rashima Jenkins had 17 points each to lead East Central, which dropped to 15- 6 overall and 5-3 in the MACJC South Division. Octavia Bearden had 17 points to lead the Lady Bears, who inlproved to 1(}.8 and 3-5.

The LadyWarriors fell66- 54 to division leader Copiah– Uocoln Community Co1Iege on Jan. 29, snapping an eight– game winning streak. In the men's contest, Devarus "Scooter" Walker, a Newton County High School product, had 14 points to the lead the Warriors, whose record stands at 8-13 and 2-6. Josh Luckett added 13, while Rico Jones had 12 and former Newton High School standout Antonio Grace fin– ished with 11,,. Paul Hilliafd had 27 points to lead Southwest, which improved to 3-16 and 1-7. The Bears held a 33-29 advantage at the break. ECCC. hosts Hinds Com– munity College on Monday night, with the women's game at 6 p.m. followed by the men's contestat8 p.m.
