SUBMITIED PHOTO Chelsey Thomas (left) is a second-straight recipient of The Sue Gunter Memorial Scholarship presented during the AT&T Scholarship Appreciation luncheon held July 16 at East Central Community College in Decatur. Thomas, a returning sophomore at ECCC, is a graduate of Forest High School. The scholarship was established by Mrs. Jessie Whittle of Newton in honor of her longtime friend. Gunter, an ECCC alumnus and Leake County native, was the longtime coach of the LSU women's basketball team. Also pictured is lanette Hanna of the College's Student Services staff.
