MSU Coach Cohen speaks at EC fast pitch banquet SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

DECATUR-John Cohen, first-year head base– ball coach at Mississippi State Umversity, was the featured speaker at East Central Community College's First-Pitch Dinner held on Jan. 3 1 on the Decatur campus During his power-point presentation, Cohen dis– cussed the Diamond Bulldogs' recruiting process and other topics of interest to the 230-plus in atten– dance at the third annual event. Cohen, who left the University of Kentucky to return to his alma mater, . said he looks for player· · who are academically as well as athletically talented. "We're not satisfied unless our players excel in both areas," he said. He also stressed the importance of players knowing the differ– ence between "Pride vs. Responsibility" and "Problems vs. Challenges."
