Jenkins led in rebounds with nine and Phillips had eight. In the men's contest, Warrior Kenneth Barlow, a Scott Central product, was fouled with 6.8 seconds remaining and made one of two free throws for an 83-81 advantage. Also scoring were Barlow, 15; Jordon , 12; Rico Jones of For est, nine; and Rod Lofton of Forest, five.

DECATUR-East Central Community College's base– ball team is being recognized for its success in the class– room after the Diamond Warriors posted a 3.13 grade point average for the 2008 fall semester. The entire team qualifies for the fall semester honor roll, which recognizes stu– dents who achieve a 3.0 GPA or above. Student assistant coach Drew Smith of Louisville led the squad with a perfect 4.0 average and qualified as a President's List scholar. Neal Holliman, who is in his third year as head coach, said he was "very proud" of his team for "working hard" in the classroom and well as on the field. "We have set a team goal for GPA every semester since we have been here and this past semester was no differ– ent," Holliman said. "We set a goal of 3.2 and finished with a 3.13. Even though we did not reach our goal, I am very
