In addttton to being a BSU member, Landon was a President's List scholar and member of the Warrior Corps. a select group of students who assist tn recruiting endeavors and special events. He was a 2008 salutatorian graduate of Newton County Academy, where he was chosen Mr. NCA, STAR Student, Most Likely to Succeed and lettered in baseball, golf and basketball. He was selected an MPSA All-Star basketball player in 2008. Landon was a member of Newton First Baptist Church . More than $10,000 was raised by family and friends to endow the Landon Bryan Burt Memorial Scholarship.
