Lady Warriors earn win .
Demetria Slocum and Yolanda Jones of Lake, 12 each; Danielle Cole, 10; Shanequa Bufkin, seven, and Quentinette Odom, six, both of Scott Central; Shantel Neely, five; Sierra Croff, four; and Alise Bryant, two. Bufkin and Cole led in rebounds with four each. The Lady Warriors posted an 86-81 decision over the ltawamba women November 14 in Decatur. In the men's contest, Itawamba responded to its earlier 68-63 loss to the Warriors by an 82-66 score, as "mentor" Marty Cooper defeated his for– mer ICC assistant Maurice Bowie who was also a standout for Cooper when he coached at ECCC.
Bowie, a Morton graduate, is in his fourth year as the Warriors' head coach. Steve Edwards had 20 points to lead the Warriors, who dropped to 4-6. Other point makers were Aquill Baynard, 13; Kenn} Thomas, 11; Keon– dre Hodges, nine; Titus Mims, six; Kendall Jack– son, four; Antonio Grace, two; and Jonathan McLen– den, one. ECCC squads return to action Thursday, January 7 by hosting Delgado Com– munity College. The women·s game begins at 6 p.m. followed by men's action at 8 p.m. in the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Build– ing.
