Juco Football Area standouts named all-stars

By Chris Brennaman assistant sports edrtor Several area juniot college football players have been selected to play in the MAC]C All-Star Classic toda}. East Central Community College. which will play on the South team is sending 11 players to the game, while East Mississippi Community College has five players on the roster fo r t he North squad. The 35th annual game, which is set to kickoff at 1 p.m.. will be played on the campus of ~~>rthca~t Missis– sippi Commt nity College in Booneville. Among the Warriors that will be making the trip are area players punter Derek Crenshaw (Neshoba Cen– tral), offensive lineman Justin Moore (Leake Academy) and linebackers Har vey Brown (Ncc:;hoba Central) and Randy Carter (Quitman) The other EC players on the roster are wide receivers Kendrick May and Dustin Alley, defensive end Josh Lewis. defensive back Clint Coleman, linebacker

Anthony McDonald, defen– sive end Cedric Hall and Josh Hall, a tight encl.- The outh team will be coached by Warrior head man Steve Cheatham and the rest of the ECCC staff. Meridian's Monlrez Mosley highlights the ScoobaTech representatives. The wide receiver, who is an MACJC All-State First Team selection this year, also returned kickoffs fo r the Lions. Quarterback PerryTram– mell and a trio of defensive backs Michael Ducksworth, KyMario Cannon and Kyle Roberts – are the other Lions on the team. · Jones County Junior Col– lege placed four players on the South team - quarter– back Early James, offensive lineman Evan Niles, defen– sive lineman Joshua Stephens and defensive back Derek Welch. Stephens played high school football at Heidelberg High School. The North won last year's game 17-14 and leads the all– time series 17-15-2.
