"We protected 17 players in Mississippi and five in Tuscaloosa County. We've got 12 solid commitments from our in-district guys. The other five are quali– fied and have some offers and are still waiting to see what they are going to get. We'll be bringing in the five guys from Tuscaloosa this Thursday night and five out-of-state players. So I think we will know a lit– tle better after Thursday night on where we stand with those guys and

where we have to go from here." Cheatham said spring practice will start at the end of February and will conclude with an intrasquad game on March 29 that will coin– cide with a home baseball game with Hinds. "We wanted to do some– thing like t11e Super Bull– dog weekend," Cheatham said. "We'll have our spring game where we invite all the signees and their parents. The baseball team will also play and there will be a lot of activ– ities goir\g on around cam– pus. We really want it to be something special for the school and the kids."
