WEEK OF ECCC staffers iniured in two-vehicle wreck

Several members of the East Central Community Col– lege Workforce Development Staff were reported recovering from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon on the Highway. 25 bypass north of Louisville. Three staff members, Joey Kenna of Forest, Roger Whit– lock of Union, and Lucretia Williams of Lena, received the most serious injuries of the eight passengers traveling in the college-owned van when it was struck by another vehicle. The driver of the other vehi– cle, a late model pickup truck, was not injured, according to reports. Kenna, transported first to a Louisville hospital, was later sent by air ambulance to the University of Mississippi Med– ical Center in Jackson where

he underwent successful sur– gery Friday night. He was admitted into a pri– vate room Saturday night and is expected to be discharged from the hospital by mid-week. Whitlock and Williams were first sent to a Starkville hospi– tal and later transported to UMC by land ambulance. Tina Harris of Decatur was first sent to a Louisville hospi– tal and released Friday night. However, she received addi– tional treatment at Rush Hos– pital in Meridian over the weekend. Four other passengers, Joe Barrett, Chris Clark and Kim– berly Mott, all of Decatur, and Joseph Knight, of Union, were treated and released at a Louisville hospital Friday night.
