began his athletic career at Philadelphia High School. excelling in foot– ball basketball, track and ba..e– ball. He made the All-State team in football as an end. But at the beginning of his junior )Car h~ transfcn·ed to Newton County Agricultural High School so he would be eligible to play at then "ECJC" his la<~t two years in h1gh '>Chool. The agricultural high ...chool wa' at that time a part of the College. A fullback at EC. Bloum scored 86 point~ his frc~hrnau year nnd played on the 193$ undefeatell team. He "wrcd 100 point... hi-. -;ophomore season and helped lead the 1939 team to an undefeated sea-.on and the College\ only state champi– onship in football. He was select– ed an All-State fullback follow– ing the season in addition to receiving AJI-American honors. Blounr died on Aug. 6, 2007. a -.hort time foliO\\ ing the death of his \\ife.
