The nationally ranked East Central Community College Lady Warriors improved to 15·2 overall and 6·1 in the :-.1ACJC South Division after posting a 63·53 decision over Pearl River Commtmity Col· lege Monday night in Poplarville. East Central, ranked 22nd in the latest NJCAA poll, also sits atop the division stand· ings ahead of Meridian and Southwest, who are tied for second with 5-2 marks. Freshman Rashima Jenk– ins, a 5-9 forward from Air– line High School in Bossier City. La., led EC in scoring with 26 points. She also had 11 rebounds. Also scoring were Mystee Dale of Choctaw Central, 15; Tanesha Brown of Jackson Provine, 10; Tawayatha Evans of Newton, live; Alisha McAfee of North– west Rankin, four; and Ali– ison Phillips of Leake Acade– my, three.

Sherrion Thomas had 11 points to lead the Lady WUd cats, who dropped to 13·5 and 4·3. EC held a 34-30 advantage at the break. In men's action. the War– riors' rally from a 2Q-point deficit fell short as the Wild– cats held on for a 70·67 victo– ry. East Central trailed 51-31 with 14:07 remaining and ral– lied with a 36-20 scoring run to close out the game. Freshman Devarus "Scoot– er" Walker, a 6-foot guard from Newton County High School, had 23 points- includ– ing tive treys- to lead the War– riors, who fell to 7-11 and 2-5.
