ECCC students present 'Knowledge Is King' Members ofEast Central Com– munity College's Theta Chi chapter of Phi Beta Lambda business fraternity sacrificed their extra time during exam week to help local high school students understand the mean– ing of "Knowledge is King," according to PBL advisor Christy Ferguson.

"PBLmembers visited theWin– ston/Louisville Vocational Com– plex on Friday, December 15, 2006, and presented activities on 'Knowledge is King.' The activi– ties allowed students to find spe– cific occupational information about careers that they ·might pursue," Ferguson explained. "Students then determined if their career would exceed Mis– sissippi's cost of living plus vari– ous expenses." The group also led students in an activity titled, "10-Year Class Reunion." During this activity, students were to decide if" Jack," a student who went straight to work after completing high school, or "Diane," a student who worked part-time and received a college degree, would have the most money upon returning for their 10-year class reunion. Ferguson said members con– cluded the exercise by promoting saving for the future. Partici– pants were also guided through an exercise to show them how
