East Central women defeat River, By Marty Stamper Appeal Sports Editor The East Central Com– munity College Lady Warriors jumped into a four-way tie for second place in the MACJC South Di vision standings with wins over Pearl River and Jones in last week's action. The Lady Warriors improved to 5-3 in the division and 13-5 overall. The EC men lost to Pearl Dubose hit four treys with Tanesha Brown knocking down two. The Lady Warriors jumped out to a 14-4 lead in the first seven minutes, upped their lead to 27-6 midway through the opening half, and carried a 22-point lead into halftime. A late 11-0 run gave EC a 45-34 halftime lead after the Lady Warriors: trailed 32-21 with 3:39 remaining in the half. Valerie Harris had 14 points and Andrea Dubose had 12 in the opening 20 minutes. EC pushed out to a 77-66 before the Lady Bobcats came starming back to {mil even at 82. Harris finished with 24 points.
