RECEIVES PACE SCHQLARSHIP: Joy Hayes (left), 2007 graduate of Newton County High School, is the recipient of the Polk and Jennie Pace Scholarship at East Central Com– munity College in Decatur. This scholarship was established in 1997 by the family of Polk and Jennie Pace in memory of Mr. Lawrence Polk Pace, who attended EC in 1929. Pic– tured with the recip1ent is ECCC academic counselor Lanette Hanna. The award was pre– sented during the College's annual AT&T Scholarship Appreciation Luncheon held Thurs– day, June 14, in Mabry Memorial Cafeteria.
