Pearl River tied it up in the botlorn of the inning when Whitney Sumpter reached after being hit by a pitch and Jessica Dubuisson followed with a double to set the stage for a two-run double by Courtney Dickens. ECCC regained the lead in the third off an RBI double by Shenique Brass. but PRCC retaliated in the bottom of the frame with five runs. Viki Ferencak got things going with a two-out single, then Jessica Scallan SJllashed a two-run homer to make it 4-3. Sumpter walked and Dubuisson singled, setting the stage for a three-run over– the-fence shot by Krystal Penton.

ECCC s tarter Kimbo Seale of Clark– dale exited the mound for ace Kady Chandler at that point. Chandler imme– diately struck out Dickens to end the inning and struck out the side in the third. Dubuisson relieved Powers to start the fourth , giving up her only hit - a double - in her firs t inning on the mound. She finished the game with seven strikeouts and a walk, while Chan– dler also struck out seven. Dubuisson also paced Pearl River's six-hit attack with a double and a single (one RBI), while Penton (three RBis) and Scallan (two RBls) homered, Dickens doubled (two RBis), and Fer– cncak singled. The Lady Warriors, who played error– free in the game, finished with five hits; led by Brass' double and single (one RBI) , while Mullinax (one RBI) and Loren Kennedy both singled.

CLINTON - Pearl River's Lady Wildcats took a 7-3 victory over East Central's Lady Warriors to open the 2007 NJCAA Region 23 Tournament here Thursday afternoon. LSU-Eunice trimmed Northwest Mis– sissippi 3-1 in other Thursday action before a torrential downpour postponed the day's remaining game until Friday. LSU-E will battle MACJC runner-up Hinds at 9 a.m. Friday. Pearl River improved to 22-29 overall with the victory, while East Central dropped to 29-21. The Lady Warriors wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, going up 2·0 in the top of the opening frame. Lady Wildcat s tarter Elizabeth Powers cranked things up by retiring two straight, but ECCC loaded the bases off a single, a fielder's choice, and an error before Powers belted Candace
