If the past is an indicator for success, the Lady Dia– mond Warriors will be cele– brating a fourth-straight win– ning campaign in 2007. Their

quest for another champi– onship season begins today against Pearl River, with dou– bleheader action set for 3 p.m. in Decatur. Outfielder Loren Kennedy of Union is the lone starter from the 2006 squad, which captured a second-straight MACJC Central Division title while also posting a record of 41-6. In addition to Kennedy - who was a second team, All-Central Division selection last year - other returnees who saw significant playing time include )nfielder Amanda Schmidt of Carthage

and catcher Tiffany Thomas of Union. Other returnees include outfielder Jessica Shannon of Carthage, infielder I outfielder Candace Griffin of Philadel– phia and catcher/infielder Kayla Mullinax of Stringer. Freshman team members are outfielders Sondreia Hillie of Neshoba Central and Andie Easom of Sebastopol; infielder/pitcher Chasity Yates of Union; out– fielders/pitchers Lindsey Stevens and Lindsey Little, both of Newton County; out– fielders/ pitchers Whitnee

White of Neshoba Central and Kimbo Seale of Clark– dale; pitcher I outfielder Kady Chandler of Neshoba Central; and infielders Shenique Brass of Philadelphia and Laura Smith of Neshoba Central. Hillie was The ~1eridian Star's 2006 J\11-Area Player of the Year, while Chandler was selected an all-state selection sat out last season.
