Warriors grind out \ victory SCOOBA - Before fall practice started, East Central Community College head football coach Terry Underwood vowed that his Warrior team would hit the field this season with a new - and old - offensive philosophy. After spreading the field on offense for the past few seasons, Underwood By Brandon Walker assistant sports editor did just thal in Thursday night's season opener at East Mississippi Community College, unveiting their new smashmouth-style offense. The result? So far, so good. In Scooba, the Warriors rolled up 409 total yanl ~ of offense, including 256 on the ground, to hold on for a 31-20 win over the Lions in the season opener for both teams. 'This is a big win because East Mississippi is a very good team,'' remarked Underwood. "Both teams played well and it was a hard-fought win for us."
