DECATUR - After several years of trying a variation of the "West Coast" offense, East Central Community College head football coach Terry Underwood said it's time for a change– time to return to the "run first" offense the Warriors successfully used in the late 1990s. Underwood, who begins his lOth year leading the ECCC football program and second stint leading the offense, hopes the "new" offensive attack in 2007 will produce the same results experienced by the 1999 Warriors; who qualified for the state playoffs en route to an 8-3 record. The first test of the "new offense" takes place against longtime rival East Mississippi Community College tonight Kickoff is set for 6:30p.m. on the Scooba campus. "vVe decided it was time to go back to what we have successfully done in the past- and that's run the ball first, then complement the running game with play action passes and a short passing game," said Underwood, who will also coach quarterbacks and running backs.
