have followed East Central Community College football this fall knew better than to (eel safe when the Warriors grabbed a 17-14 lead with only 1:45 remaining in Sat– urday's homecoming contest with Copiah-Lincoln Commu– nity College. Sure enough, the Wolves needed only 67 seconds to find the end zone and take a 21-17 victory in the MACJC South Division contest. ECCC fell to 0-5 in the divi– sion and 2-5 overall. The War– riors have now lost 12 con– secutive division games and will have to win Thursday at Hinds Community College to have any chance of avoiding the league cellar for the second year in a row. "There's not much to say. They converted. They had a minute and something to go and they went down the field and made the plays," said ECCC lOth-year head coach Terry Underwood. "It gets down to making plays in this game. "Our kids fought back and got the lead with a minute and something to go. You hate for a game to end that way. There were so many
opportunities.

"We haven't been able to finish. That's our bottom line. It's frustrating. I hate it for the kids. I hate it for every– body involved." The Warriors did put together a fine scoring drive to enjoy a brief lead at 17-14. A 39-yard kickoff return by Freddie Parham put ECCC in business at the Co-Lin 39 with just under five minutes remaining. Quar terback Deon Williams scrambled for 12 yards to the 29, hit Mau rice Langston for a 9-yard gain, then ,completed a 13-yard touchdown pass to Courtney Shelton with 1:45 showing.
