ECCC's NJCAA Academic All-Americans These student-athletes at East Central Community College inDecaturwere namedNational Junior Col– legeAthletic Association (N~CAA) Academic All-Americans for 2006-07. Honorees and their respective sports area include (seatett from left} Loren Kennedy (softball) and Kim Cleveland (tennis), both of Union; and Briana Stinson (tennis) and Celeste Burt (soccer), both ofPhiladelphia. Standing from left are Amanda Schmidt (softbaii),Carthage; Maggie McDill (soccer and tennis) and Colby Amis (football and golf), both ofDecatur; Wade Brown (tennis), Forest; Chelsea Brown (soccer and tennis), Perkinston: and Brittany Harper (soccer),Meridian. Amis, Kennedy, McDill, Stinson, Harper, Burt and Schmidt were named Distinguished Academic All-Americans for achieving a 3.8 grade point average or above. Cleve– land, Chelsea Brown and Wade Brown qualified as Academic All-Americans for earning at least a 3.6 GPA. Students who receive NJCAA Academic All-American honors must have completed three semes– ters of college work and participated in at least one athletic season on the varsity level.
