Attendance may have been down slightly, but the bidding was brisk Saturday morning at a sur"plus auction held on the East Central Community College Campus. Abo,c: as tbe day was getting started about 50 metal desks were lined up like tombstones awaiting Auctioneer Corbert Hollingsworth's gavel. HarQ Holt of Union, right, is always on the lookout for saws, drills and other machi nes; but, be said this table saw just required a little more work than be was willing to invest. '\1ickey Vance, VP of EC's Business Operations, said the three-hour sale netted, "I think about $12,150." He said the sale, held every two or three years, was good way for the school to get some value out of some things. "'If we're selling it, we prett) much have used all the good out it," he said. He said every items on the grounds sold, including close to a hundred old computer monitors, CPU's and keyboards. "I'm not sure what they get ou t of those, but there is, evidently, some salvage value."
