East Central Community College in Decatur Is again well represented on the list of student athletes selected as National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Academic All-Americans. The elite group includes Distinguished Academic All-Americans - students with a 3.8 grade point aver– age or above - and Academic All-Americans- those with a 3.6 GPA or above. ECCC students select– ed Academic All-Americans for 2006 and their respective sports area include (seated from left) Micah Lanier (soccer) of Little Rock, Caleb Shepard (tennis) of Carthage and Emily Massey (bas– ketball) of Forest. Students named Distinguished Academic All-Americans include (standing from left) Lindsey Walker (softball) of Little Rock, Abby Miller (softball) of Moorhead, Clancy Cleveland (tennis) of Union and Heather Steele (basketball) and Jalmee Jones (soccer), both of Louisville. Not pictured are Distinguished Academic All-Americans Joy Cavenaugh (softball) of Chunky and Anthony Stanford (football) of Louisville. Students who receive NJCAA Academic All-American honors must have completed three semesters of college work and participated in at least one sea– sor on the varsity level.
