Hotty Todd) ... Five Newton County students got a boost to their college education l\londay night in Decatur. The high school and East Central Community College grads each received a $2,000 J.G. Alexander cholarship to continue tbe~r studies at the University of Mississippi. The stipends were pre– sented b) the • ewton County Chapter of the Ole Miss Alumni Association a its annual meeting on the EC campus. The club, organized in 2000, has funded eleven scholarships over the past seven years; and, awarded the latest to: (from left) Haley Harris, Misty Mayes, Tyler :\tcl\lillan, Kurt Nelson and Catherine Welsh ; making the presentation was Dr. J.G. Alexander (far right).
