Amy Hathorn (left) of Louisville, a 2006 grad– uate of East Central Community College, recently received an Art Merit Scholarship to continue her education at the University of Mississippi. She was selected for the schol– arshipafter submitting a portfolio of her work and two letters of recommendation. ECCC art instructor Bruce Guraedy (right), who also serves as Chairman of the Division of Ane Arts, said, "I am very proud of Amy. She works and studies very hard. She is a very intelligent young lady with a lot of creative potential. I will miss having her in my class– es." A graduate of Louisville High School, Hathorn was a member of Theta Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the International honor society of the two-year college, and was selected for Who's Who Among American Community College Students. She plans to complete her degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis on graphic design.
