The number f musicians has increased greatly ... ince director Thomas W. Car-.on took over the program in 1982. "My philosophy is to have a band pro– gram that the '>tudents want to be in and are proud to be in. I always tell them that I have pul my heart into this program because I love it so much, and I want them to f<.•el the same dedi– cation and pride." Carson said that current band members are his best recruiters. "'Tbey go out and tell their friends about the band," he said.
