EAST CENTRAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE RECEIVES BURKES SCHOLARSHIP: East Central Com- munity College sophomore Laura Foreman, a graduate of Newton County High School, is the recipient of the 2005 Ann H. Burkes Scholarship. Established 1n 1999 to honor the li!e and works of Ann Hunter Burkes (right) of Decatur, a longtime employee and Phi Theta Kappa advisor at East Central, this~scholarship is awarded to a returning Phi Theta Kappa member. The award was presented during the College's annual Bell South ScholarshipAppreciation Luncheon held Thursday, May 26, in Mabry Memorial Cafe– teria.
