EC students visit Family Center
Deve lopment Department instructs students in curriculum planning and implementation and gives them experiences in coordi– nation of activities in art, music, language arts, social studies, sci– ence, math, and other avenues of learning, thus preparing teachers' aides in public school systems and . other positions. Upon successful– ly completing the Child Development Technology pro– gram, graduates should be able to gain entry to administrative level employment in the child care industry. The program also operates a licensed child care center for 30 childrep from age eight-weeks to kindergarten age. These are children of faculty and students at EC and are here for the pur– pose of training students, who must work 480 hours in the cen– ter. Each year, the students plan a field trip for the children.

The Development Technology Department of East Central CQmmunity College recently visited the Louisville Municipal School Family Center. Mrs. Barbra Eichelberger and Mrs. Marie Livingston welcomed everyone. They told their guests that the Family Center is an edu– cational lending library. The students, children, and teachers were entertained by Granny, who r~ad them a very interesting story, and Mother Goose, who presented an exciting puppet show. The children thor– oughly enjoyed it. Following the entertainmen t Granny and Mrs. Livingston walked the group across the road to Ivy Park where they enjoyed a picnic and playing on t he play– ground. East Central's Child Child
