DECATUR- East Central Community College's best softball season in school history came to an end with a third-place finish in the MACJC State/Region ·XXIUTournament Sunday afternoon following an 8- 1 loss to Northeast Mississippi Community Col– lege. The Lady Warriors wrapped up their season with a 34-5 record. "We don't have anything to be ashamed of," said ECCC head coach Scott Hill. "The girls have had a heck of a year, and I'm really proud of them. We would have liked to have gone on, but that's the way it worked out." ECCC had several scoring threats during the game, but could only manage one run which came in the top of the fifth inning. Obreisha Davis beat out a two-out bunt and Kristin Chaney followed with a single to left field. Davis scored on a double to the fence in right-center field byAbby Miller. ECCC stranded nine runners in the game.
