Gulf Coast took a 1-0 leac in the top of the first innint on a solo home r to center field by Emily LeBlanc. · The Lady Warriors went up 2-1 in the bottom of the first as Chaney led off with an infield hit, and Miller fol– lowed with a two-run homer to left field. A two-run triple to right field by LeBlanc put the Lady Bulldogs up 3-2 in the top of the third. LeBlanc made it 4-2 when she scored on a single by Heather Matos. The Lady Warriors tied the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the fourth on a two-run double to right-center by Kotreece Bender. Her hit scored courtesy runners Obreisha Davis and Allison McDaniel. ECCC had run– ners at second and third with one out, but Gulf Coast's Lindsay Long got Chaney to pop up and Miller to hit a comebacker to escape fur– ther damage. Smith improved her record to 18-0 with the win. Long dropped to 16-5. Gulf Coast finished at 32-9.

She gave up five hits and one walk while striking out eight as Northwest fin– ished 33-7. ECCC 5 Gulf Coast 4 Kristin Chaney slid home with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth as the Lady Warriors staved off elimination on Saturday night. Chaney led off the ninth and went all the way to second base on an error on the Gulf Coast third baseman. Mille r bunted Chaney to third, and Chaney was safe in a collision at the plate following a grounder to shortstop by Marley Smith .
