"W1th the women's team, I feel we are moving m the right direction," George added. "I've recruited hard, talking w1th between 50-60 recru1ts from around the state. There seems to be more sen1ors this year than in the past."
George said he expects to have h1s rosters set for the 2005 season at the end of the month.

The Meridian Community College baseball team is just six days away from starting the 2005 season.
The Eagles, who advanced to the Junior College World Series for a second straight year in 2004, will start play this year on Saturday with a double-header on the road against Pensacola (Fla.) Commun ity College. "We are at the po int in the season where we are really ready to play ," sa id first-year Eagles head coach Chad Caillet. "Time will tell if we are ready to play. "
MCC opens its home schedule on Feb. 15 with a double-header aga1nst K1shwaukee.

Soccer Eagles give back
Meridian Community College's soccer program held a camp for young players on Jan. 24-26.
Eagles and Lady Eagles head coach Alex George said the three-day camp drew about 60 players to MCC's campus. The cost of the camp was $60 per player. "We had good weather, and a lot of kids who will be starting their youth leagues soon," said George, who had 20 players from the MCC men's and women's squads help h1m run the camp. "It was a good way for my players and myself to give back to the community. A lot of the kids at the camps also come to our games, and it was a way for us to get to know them."
