ECCC golfers runner-up in Region 23 East Central Community College's golf team placed sec– ond in Division ill 0 . competition at the MACJC/Region 23 Championship Golf · ,.. • Tournament held April 20-21 at Canebrake Golf Club in Hattiesburg. The Warriors, coached by Tlm Coats, posted a two-day total of 661, while Northwest M'!ssissippi won the top spot W1th 638. Also competing were Jones (666), Southwest Mississippi (718), and Copiah– Lincoln (failed to qualify). Philip Dickerson of Union carded a 156 total (82-74) to lead ECCC and was named to the All-Region 23 Division III Team, which qualifies him to com~ete for the second-straight year m the NJCAA Division III Golf Tournament scheduled in New York during June. Also scoring for ECCC were J~ Dilley of Forest, who shot 166 (86-80); Chris Bounds o~ Newton, 172 (90-82); Jason Ststrunk of Sebastopol, 172 (85- 87); and John Bergin of Forest 174 (85-89). ' Hinds was the overall win– ner with a 602. Other teams and their respective results included Meridian (604), N?rt~e~st Mississippi (623), Miss1sstppi Gulf Coast (624) Pearl River (638), Eas; Mississippi (661), Itawamba (670) and Holmes (695), all of whom compete in Divisk>n IT.
