state champions should see seven seniors sign with colleges on Wednesday. Quarterback Akeem Lofton (5·10, 180) has verbally committed to Mississippi State and is expected to sign on Wednesday. It looks as if Southwest Community College will pick up offensive linemen Jeremy Hudson (5-10, 260) and Johnny Walker (5· 10, 235), as well as defensive lineman Matt Jones and wide receiver Jake Allen. Wide Receiver Charles McCall (5-11, 165) has been offered by Southwest and Hinds. Scoot Saul has been contacted by Mississippi College, Belhaven and Millsaps. Philadelphia High School is contributing its share of athletes to higher education. Right tackle Tyler Threadgill (6-0, 175) is expected to sign with Mississippi State while Cameron Tawater will either sign with Southern Miss. or go the JUCO route. ECCC is expected to sign Justin payton, Matt Corrigan and Daniel Pucket.
